Nostalgia Alert: Yokomo Re-releases the YZ-870c Super DogFighter

They don't make 'em like they used to. While my entry into the R/C hobby was decades after what some may consider its heyday, several brands have issued re-releases (and in some cases, re-re-releases) of their classic models.

One of the latest to do so is Yokomo with its re-released YZ-870c Super DogFighter kit. This mid-80s radio-controlled buggy has all the makings for a fun build experience. On top of that, it should be an exciting performer, especially with modern LiPo battery power.

With its knobby tires and large rear wing, this model screams classic 1987 radio-controlled buggy style. This belt-driven buggy features a blend of plastic and aluminum parts, providing improved durability for today's high-output batteries.

To complete the YZ-870c Super DogFighter build, you'll need to supply a radio system (transmitter and receiver), ESC, steering servo, battery, battery charger, polycarbonate paint, and a motor.
