The DR1 Drone Racing Invitational Gains Mtn Dew as Title Sponsor
Another big announcement from the world of competitive drone racing.
2016 is rapidly becoming the year that multi-rotor/drone racing hits mainstream. In the wake of recent news stating ESPN would begin to broadcast and stream International Drone Racing League (IDRL) events later this year, Mtn Dew has announced a partnership with the DR1 Racing Invitational. This partnership including title sponsorship by Mtn Dew as well as broadcasts of DR1 races on Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and online streaming via Twitch.
In the promotional video kicking off this announcement, pilots such as the young phenom Luke Bannister (BanniUK), Jordan Temkin (Swab), Tommy T. (Ummagawd), Bapu Madhu and others will be participating in this competitive invite-only series. As I write this, not many more details appear to be available regarding this series, but I’m looking forward to learning more as the summer months approach.
